India and Germany on Wednesday agreed that after their robust bilateral economic cooperation, they will focus on the environment and cooperate on water and waste management. "Just like Indo-German Climate and Renewables Alliance, cooperation in field of environment needs to be strengthened," Anil Kumar Jain, Additional Secretary in the Environment, Forest and Climate Change Ministry said after the third Indo-German working group meeting ended here.

Adani Green Energy on Tuesday said its arm Mahoba Solar (UP) Private Ltd has bagged a 390 megawatt alternating current (MWac) capacity hybrid renewable energy project. The Solar Energy Corporation of India had floated the tender for the project. The project is expected to have a solar generation capacity of 360 MWac and wind generation capacity of 100 MWac, it said in a BSE filing.

 Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) – operator of the Kempegowda International Airport -- on Wednesday inaugurated its rooftop solar power project. This solar plant will generate 3.35 MW of power for Bengaluru airport and an annual solar generation of around 4.7 million units. The plant is installed across 8 rooftops within the airport premises at Menzies Bobba, Air India SATS, Coolport and several BIAL office buildings.

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has announced that it has releaesed a memorandum requesting for observation of stakeholders on the BIS standards for solar PV water pumping systems. Previously, the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) had requested the MNRE to arrange a meeting of the sub-committee constituted for formulating the standards for solar PV water pumping systems.
