Bill C-70 Cree Governance Implemented

Cree Nation of Eeyou Istchee and Canada signed another historic agreement in our progress toward Indigenous nation-building. Today, Canada has passed Bill C-70, which enacts the Cree Nation of Eeyou Istchee Governance Act and the Cree Constitution.

An agreement establishing new Nation-to-Nation relationships between the Pekuakamiulnuatsh Nation and the Cree Nation of Eeyou Istchee was officially signed June 21, 2018 during a ceremony surrounding events of National Indigenous Peoples Day in Mashteuiatsh
