Spring cleanup volunteers dig in   A big ‘Thank You’ to the volunteers from Apache Canada Ltd., Direct Energy, KAIROS Calgary, NOVA Chemicals, Shell Canada Ltd., The City of Calgary’s IT department and Westside King’s Church, who raked, planted and swept, with staff and tenants chipping in to spruce up yards around our buildings. Introducing Diana Krecsy, CHF’s new President & CEO
On May 26, we welcomed Diana Krecsy as our new President & CEO. Before joining the Foundation, she was the CEO of the Calgary Drug Treatment Court Society and the CEO of the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta, NWT and Nunavut. Learn more about Diana here.

Working together to build a better homeless-serving system
This was the theme of our Annual Report and the remarks from President and CEO Diana Krecsy at our Annual General Meeting this week. You can view the report here and read Diana’s speech here.  

Stepping Stone Manor kick off
In April we gathered to celebrate our new 30-unit assisted living apartment building which will be built using provincial grants and a gift from Cedarglen Living. The existing boarding house was slated for demolition so This is My City Art Society turned it into a temporary work of art. Read more here and check out the art here.

Save the date! Premier’s Home Opener on Oct. 23
We know it’s early but we are getting a head start on planning our annual fundraiser. Be sure to save the date in your calendar for the Premier’s Home Opener from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 23. More information about sponsorship, ticket sales and….who the Premier hosting will be…to come!
