It's October and the autumn weather in Illinois couldn't be more perfect! I look forward to enjoying the fall color as I take to the road again.  I hope you can join me when I'm in your area.

Please note that all the events listed for November and December include a meal so advance reservation or advance ticket purchase is required. Please contact the person listed for each event you would like to attend. Thanks!

Let's start with a little story....
Hiking the Trail Together

I grew up in the Midwest and moved to northern California in my early twenties. I landed in the ideal location--close to San Francisco, the ocean and the mountains. My favorite escape was to head to the Sierra mountains to backpack and camp. I enjoyed the peace of hiking all day through cool pine forests and across lush high country meadows. What a thrill to reach the mountain tops and to stand in awe, surrounded by the magnificence of God's creation.

One of my favorite backpack trips was with my husband in the Sierras in the fall. The weather was cool and crisp. Kids were back in school so we had the Eldorado National Forest to ourselves. Nearly to ourselves, that is. It was a little unsettling to learn that we were traipsing about in the woods on the first weekend of hunting season!

Fortunately, the only hunters we met sauntered by on horseback and traveled further up the pass, leaving us to enjoy scampering over the boulders and soaking up the sun as we climbed to the heights.

I have also enjoyed the "high places" with another companion: God. He has led me on a scenic trail through life that has, at times, required steep climbs. There, I have been rewarded with views of His goodness and faithfulness I wouldn't have seen by any other means.

"The Sovereign Lord is my strength;
he makes my feet like the feet of a deer,
he enables me to go on the heights."
~Habakkuk 3:19~

God was my constant companion. Not only did He give me the feet of a deer when mine seemed too clumsy and weak to walk the trail, He provided many other companions to walk with me. We enjoyed mutual encouragement and challenged each other to change and grow as we journeyed together with God.

Some of those sisters were speakers who I heard at retreats, gatherings at churches and events in large arenas.  God often brought them along when I was at a tough point in the climb or needed wisdom when facing a fork in the trail.

During my early years as a Christian, my relationship with God was deepened in profound ways by the messages these speakers crafted from God's Word and His work in their lives.

I am grateful for the opportunities God is giving me to teach and encourage other women as a Christian speaker. I hope that you and I will have the pleasure of hiking together soon.
