The Wonder of it All

Hi Movie Fan,

Walking to our cars after an outdoor event, my three-year-old son saw a news helicopter above us. A huge fan of flying machines, he had never seen one flying so close. He waved his little hand to get the pilot's attention. Though doubtful the pilot could see him, I encouraged him anyway, "Tell him 'Hi' and wave! Maybe he can see you!"  I thought perhaps helicopter pilots loved to see kids waving, and maybe my son could be a bright spot in his day.

Well, a little encouragement went a long way. That kid waved longer than I ever imagined a child could wave. We walked over sidewalks, he stumbled through uneven grass, I hauled him over curbs, and he never looked back down. He kept on waving with an unquenchable wonder, hoping to be seen by someone who was doing something amazing.

How often do we wait for God to get our attention? We live our busy, stressful lives and only slow down to talk to God when something breaks. Then he has our full attention. But that's backward. Look at your life. What do you really want to do? God is doing it somewhere. How do you really want to feel? God is healing someone's heart. What do you want to know? God is teaching people across the globe. Flag him down. It will be the brightest spot in his day.

Royal Crown Productions announced today plans to create a full length, computer animated motion picture of the Biblical Book of Revelation, in conjunction with an extended online video study series of Revelation.

"Revelation is the only book in the Bible that specifically promises a blessing to those that read it and those that share it," says Nathan Gopen, president of Royal Crown Productions. "Therefore we have always held this work with highest regard, and continually strive to bring a richer immersive experience to the vision John wrote about."

Job description: Rebuild national security. Deal with economic injustice. Snuff out internal strife. Initiate religious reforms. Remuneration: Threats, threats, and more threats.

Would you give up a comfortable job at the “White House” to take this job? Nehemiah did. He left his job as cup bearer and confidant to the king of Persia in order to help the demoralized people in Jerusalem. What moved him?

First, he didn't allow his comfortable position in life to nullify his concerns for God’s people—his countrymen. He made inquiries. He talked to people who had just come from Jerusalem to find out the condition of the people and the city (Nehemiah 1:2).

Second, he identified himself with the huddled masses. He didn’t simply shake his head andsay, “My, my! That’s too bad.” He didn’t go back to his work in Babylon thinking, “What a tragedy!” Nehemiah not only heard about the need of the people, he felt their need. He wept, mourned, fasted, and prayed for days—entreating God to do something about their condition...

Dove Review: Undaunted: The Early Life of Josh McDowell - DVD
Undaunted: The Early Life of Josh McDowell - DVD

Dove Review:
This DVD shines as a story of redemption! Josh McDowell graduated from Wheaton Bible College with honors. He has been in the ministry for over fifty years. He has written over 125 books including "More than a Carpenter". Yet his beginnings would shock a lot of people.

In this DVD we see the biography of his life, that of a son of an alcoholic father and a mother so over-weight that when she went to his football games she had to sit outside in the car because she was too large for the wooden bleachers to hold her. He was molested as a boy by someone who lived in the house. He had to keep his father from killing his mother. Yet his father was a different man when not drinking. Josh could not wait to leave his home in Union City, Michigan, but soon was confronted by Christians in college. He was bitter but he took on their challenge to prove the resurrection didn't happen. Instead the evidence he had was overwhelming but it was by reading about God's love that his life was dramatically changed forever. He decided he needed to reconnect with his father, and by making a simple statement to his dad, "I love you", his father's life would change more dramatically in some ways than his very own. We are pleased to award this movie our Dove "Family-Approved" Seal. Parents should consult the content listing below as it does contain a few sophisticated moments in it which are not appropriate for young children. The redemptive theme in this movie makes this one a sure-fire keeper!

"it was a powerful movie, but it could have done without the sex scene in the kitchen etc. Not what I expected to find on a Christian, family dvd rental site. I'm glad I read some on it and waited to watch it after our daughter went to bed."

"Excellent movie that is emotional and bothering. It shows us what goes on in today's public schools and made us realize we have to pray hard for our youth and the Christian kids that have to be around all this craziness while attending classes."

What Are You Laughing At? - DVD
What Are You Laughing At? - DVD

by Richard and Linda Dilly

"What Are You Laughing At? is a terrific film, displaying the talents of David deChemin, better known as The Rubber Chicken Guy. He juggles, demonstrates wonderful illusion tricks, uses facial expressions to convey comedy, and gives a wonderful Gospel presentation at the end of this DVD. You’ll laugh and be amazed! Enjoy!"
