Pot Luck Ice Cream Social!
The YIHS community is invited to Jacob's farm next Thursday, July 19 at 6PM for an Ice Cream Social! Matt will be cooking up some brats and we're asking you to bring a quart of your favorite ice cream.
This will be a fun social event to offer Shawn & AnnaJo our best wishes for their year in Boston, and to say hello to Dave Hibbard-Rode who will be joining us at YIHS.
Also, you'll get a close-up look at the results of our Public Art Intensive, above (click here to see a time lapse animation of the process).

Open positions for the 2012-2013 school year
YIHS is seeking a Mathematics teacher(s) for Algebra II and Calculus for the coming year. 4 hours/week/class. We offer non-competitive pay among wonderful colleagues in a supportive environment. Successful teaching experience with teens preferred. Contact Liz or download a printable application here.

YIHS looking for a few donations
We would like to offer a ceramics class this year and we are looking for 6-8 potter's wheels to borrow for a few weeks. If you can lend us one, please contact Liz Cox.
- Peg LaMartina for donating a rich supply of mat board, foam core board, two light tables, and a beautiful print.
Facilities Help Needed!
Projects for summer at YIHS include:
- Scraping and painting the SW corner of the office ceiling (air conditioned!)
- New curtain rods and curtains for the main kitchen
- Organizing the art supplies
- Organizing the physics supplies

Kickapoo Country Fair, Saturday, July 28
YIHS Community members are invited to help out at this year's Kickapoo Country Fair. If you spend a couple of hours helping out at the Fair, Organic Valley will pay YIHS for your time. Kay Fandel is organizing volunteers and has open spots available on Friday, Saturday,and Sunday.
Friday, July 27: set up for the Fair.
Saturday, July 28: 2 people for each of 3 shifts: 9am-12, 12-3pm and 3-6pm to help with grilled cheese and runners as needed.
Sunday, July 29: 10am (until we are done) taking down and packing.

Camping Trip, 2012
Please feel welcome to help us plan this year's camping trip at the meeting on Monday, July 16 at 1PM. If you cannot make it to the meeting, but would like to share your suggestions, contact Jacob.
YIHS teacher Jacob Hundt will be offering a course for adults on the American Transcendentalists, under the auspices of the Driftless Folk School, starting Wednesday July 25, subsequent Wednesdays through August 15. 6:30 PM. More information is availableat the Folk School website.

Help feed the 99%
Spend a summer afternoon on a beautiful farm and get your hands in the soil!
Gleaning is from 12:30-4:30 every Thursday.
We meet at the Food Enterprise Center parking lot and car pool out to area organic farms and harvest produce. Produce is packed in the field and delivered to a cooler. All produce is donated to area food pantries in Vernon, Crawford and Monroe Counties.
Please wear weather appropriate clothes (layers, sunscreen, hat, rain gear) bring drinking water & snacks, wear sturdy, closed-toed shoes.
