Public Art Intensive photos
Pete Hodapp's Public Art Intensive class
took place at night last week so students could trace the images they'd designed onto Jacob's barn: tobacco leaves above, grapevines below and the face of original homesteader Elmer Swenson in the middle. They're doing the actual painting this week.

Look for us this Sunday, May 20 in Westby's Syttende Mai Parade. The parade starts at 1:30PM.
- Tyler Bee from the Beehive Collective! for a really informative and inspiring presentation on the effects of Mountaintop Removal Coal Mining last Friday. Everyone at the event did a little observation & analysis of a piece of the drawing, and we presented our stories to each other.

We now have $50 and $20 gift cards available at school. YIHS receives 10% of the sale of each card -- this is an easy way to support our school while just doing your every day business. Please note: if you use your Kwik Trip card at the pump, you must complete the sale before your card will work inside the store.

Summer Social Dance Session
Shawn and AnnaJo will be offering a weekly social dance class in Viroqua in the month of June. No experience necessary! Just a willingness to move and work with a partner. The classes are being set for Wednesday evenings and will cover swing, waltz, salsa and tango. If you'd like to reserve a place, please email Shawn at email@example.com.

Driver's Ed - gearing up again
Any students 15 and older interested in taking Driver's Education this summer should register on-line at Ready Driving Academy. Students may also pick up forms in the YIHS office. Classes will begin June 11th and continue until June 29th, Monday through Friday, 8:00 - 10:00AM. If you have any questions, contact Mr. Ertl at 608-637-7498.
