With the launch of the ACC Network on Thursday comes the debut of a sharp, sleek, and colorful new studio set on ESPN’s Bristol, CT, campus. Located in Studio G in ESPN’s Digital Center 1, the 2,800-sq.-ft. home of the new college-conference network was no simple, templated build. This is a customized set designed to push the envelope in a few areas, including clever camera design and innovative graphics displays.

Georgia Tech Turns Production Facility Into an ACC Network Fortress

The Georgia Institute of Technology, or simply Georgia Tech, is known mostly for developing the world’s next great wave of biomedical and industrial engineers. As one of the best research universities in the nation, the Yellow Jackets know a little something about hard work. With today’s official launch of the ACC Network, the institute gave a new meaning to “Tech” by renovating its 6,400-sq.-ft. on-campus production facility to a tune of $10 million.

As we sit on the doorstep of August, the summer is starting to heat up in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). With about three weeks separating the 15 member institutions from the launch of the ACC Network, production teams from as far north as New York and as far west as Kentucky are polishing their facilities to live up to the hype. In the conference heartland, Virginia Tech’s HokieVision flipped the June Oblinger Shott Media Center in the south endzone of Lane Stadium and constructed two control rooms for the university’s network operations.

New Pitt Studios Furthers the University’s Commitment to Broadcast Education

While other schools around the country continue to gear up for the launch of the ACC Network in August 2019, NEP helped the University of Pittsburgh and Pitt Athletics in the effort, providing consulting services, buildout, and integration solutions for a new state-of-the-art broadcast facility in the university’s Petersen Events Center. The opening of Pitt Studios on Oct. 4 is the conclusion to a whirlwind of on-campus initiatives — and the start of broadcast programs.

The University of Louisville is the latest ACC school to nail down preparations for the upcoming launch of the ACC Network. Some, notably Duke and the University of Pittsburgh, have made substantial changes to their facilities. The Cardinals, however, took it to the next level, constructing a brand-new facility formally named the University of Louisville Athletics Broadcast Center on the far northeast side of campus. In addition to exceeding ESPN’s requirements for the network, the structure lived up to the university’s expectations as well.

A Strong Foundation Keeps Syracuse University Ahead of the ACC Network Curve

Although the cold weather is at its peak in central New York, productions at Syracuse University are heating up in the months leading up to the launch of the ACC Network.
