Live From the US Open: Tennis Channel Wraps Up Another Busy Year in Flushing

Tennis Channel will close out its 11th year at the US Open this weekend, and the network is churning out more content than ever, with more than 160 hours of linear content and a cache of digital content coming out of Flushing, NY, over the past two weeks. Tennis Channel once again has a dedicated control room at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center to produce its daily lead-in show, Tennis Channel Live at the US Open, and encore airings of matches throughout the night.

Live from the US Open: Gearhouse Broadcast Serves Up Tech for Multiple Clients

Gearhouse Broadcast in once again supporting ESPN’s efforts (and those of others) at the US Open. The biggest advances at this year’s US Open technically have been centered around ACES, the automated production area that handles the outer courts. The nine teams that handled those courts were moved to a new second floor that was added with the addition of voice over booths as well as a second audio room and increased media management capabilities that gave a lot more feeds to those teams.

Live From the US Open: NEP Out in Full Force — Both Behind the Scenes and on the Court

NEP’s growing portfolio of companies is on full display here at the US Open. In addition to supporting the USTA and rightsholders with content distribution and communications, three NEP mobile units are onsite, Mediatec has deployed a state-of-the art LED wrap display on the court at Arthur Ashe Stadium, Bexel has provided extensive fiber support, Fletcher has an army of robos on hand and its TRACE camera-tracking system as part of ESPN’s ACES productions on the outer courts, and Big Screen is producing content for screens across the grounds.
