Dear all,

We are very pleased to be welcoming Adam Shapiro back for a second Oboe Reed Making course this September 20-21 following the success of the first. Places are filling up fast so please book and share soon to avoid disappointment.

Oboe Reed Making | Adam Shapiro | September 2015 |  Sunday 20 - Monday 21 | £160

Slowly but surely we are also compiling new course dates for 2016; Trumpet Making, Brass Repair & Care and Recorder Making already have new dates set (follow links to book).

More details will follow but it seems June 2016 will be a particularly brassy month with our annual trumpet making, two Brass Repair & Care courses, a potential Cornetto Making course and an Early Instrument Exhibition.

We will also be adding new dates for Baroque Oboe Making, Flute, Classical Clarinet and children's courses as well as our usual series of Repair & Care courses for woodwind instruments so do keep an eye on our newsletters for up to date information.

Before this year is up we still have a number of places on our Saxophone and Clarinet Repair & Care courses,  as well as Woodland Whistle making which ties in with Stapleford Granary's Autumn Nature Walk.

The workshop will also still be busy with full courses making oboes and flute head joints too!

Daniel has also pioneered a number of very successful private courses for a whole range of individuals and schools in the last few months. Please email us if you would like further information about organising your own private courses. (info@cambridgewoodwindmakers.org)

As ever, please email us if you are waiting for a particular course or have any questions and we will get back to you as soon as we can. (info@cambridgewoodwindmakers.org)

Recently we have also had a few other items drawn to our attention that may interest our readers:

Early Music Instrument Inventory
Cambridge Early Music has teamed up with Cambridge Music Hub and the Academy of Ancient Music to conduct a pilot to compile an inventory of period instruments (used or unused) which could be lent and borrowed by young artists and students in the locality.  If the response is positive we aim to expand this pilot on a national level and produce a national online inventory.

If you would like to take part in this scheme and make your instrument(s) available to future generations please contact Dr Christopher Roberts: info@CambridgeEarlyMusic.org.

Boxwood @ Benslow
Calling all oboe, clarinet, bassoon and horn players!

Boxwood & Brass is running a course at Benslow Music Trust between 18–20 September. We’re particularly looking for strong oboe and clarinet players to take leading roles in one-on-a-part ensembles playing wind serenades and opera transcriptions by Mozart, Beethoven, and Krommer.
