Recorder Knowledge, Repair & Care

We are delighted that Jacqueline Sorel will be returning to our workshop this year. Over the weekend of the 21 & 22 March she will be hosting two private groups; one with young children and one with professional recorder players. We will also have public sessions with her.

For everyone interested in the recorder Jacqueline gives a fascinating and exciting insight into the manufacture, adjustment and maintenance of recorders. Learn how to choose a new instrument, how the choice of wood affects the instrument, and so much more. You will also have the opportunity to try a number of instruments from her own workshop.

If you would like to attend please email or call Daniel Bangham on +44 (0)1223 713 101 to find out the timings. There will likely be one session on Saturday and one on Sunday morning but due to a changing group session we still need to confirm.

21 March | Jacqueline Sorel | £40 half day
22 March | Jacqueline Sorel | £40 half day

Make A Recorder - Activity Day for Children

We have set new dates for the Children's Recorder Making Activity Days. These offer a unique opportunity for children to experience hands-on the processes involved in making something - a rare opportunity with today's educational focuses. They get to keep the working recorder they make, which is from the well known German recorder makers; Mollenhauer. A great holiday activity and/or birthday present.

July - Friday 24 | 10am - 1pm | £48 | Daniel Bangham
October - Sunday 25 | 2pm - 5pm | £48 | Daniel Bangham

For further details see our website.

Recorder Making

We are also still hosting excellent courses by Tim Cranmore, where you make your own recorder from scratch (you do get to keep it!). Many of the courses already have bookings and there are only two places per course so book soon to avoid disappointment.

May - Monday 25 - Friday 29 | £1000 | Tim Cranmore
August - Monday 10 - Friday 14 | £1000 | Tim Cranmore
August - Monday 17 - Friday 21 | £1000 | Tim Cranmore

Please pass this information on to all your recorder-relevant friends! And please continue to email us if there is a course you are interested in but there are no available dates as yet.
