New Workshop

Magnum Workshop: Rome

The Magnum Workshop in Rome is a four day practice focused photography workshop led by three experienced Magnum photographers; Richard Kalvar, Moises Saman and Peter Van Agtmael. Each photographer will guide intimate groups of 12 participants who will have the opportunity to shoot, polish and publish their work under the guidance of these experienced practitioners.

Magnum Sport: Icons & The Everyday

The exhibition - located over two central Birmingham sites at Colmore Square and the new Church Street Square - features seventy extraordinary photographs by some of the world’s leading documentary photographers. Presented to coincide with the London 2012 Olympics, the exhibition shows sport as a truly universal language which knows no borders; sport as an activity which bridges social, religious, cultural & gender divides and sport as part of, not separate from everyday life.

IdeasTap Photographic Award: The shortlist

Launched in 2009, The annual Photographic Award is one of a plethora of opportunities for young photographers delivered through the educational partnership between Magnum Photos and the creative network, IdeasTap. Thomas Hoepker's Muhammad Ali portfolio sold at Sports for Peace charity gala

Iconic sportsman Muhammad Ali was honored at a charity gala event 25th July at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, in celebration of the London 2012 Olympic Games. The prestigious event was organised by Sports for Peace and included an auction to raise funds for the educational Muhammad Ali Centre in Kentucky and Parkinson’s research. The highlight of the auction was a set of 16 photographs of Muhammad Ali, including a rare platinum print, taken by Magnum photographer Thomas Hoepker in the 1960s, which was sold for £110,000 ($173,000).
