Welcome to Inspire Learning
Teaching School Hub

By now, all schools should have received the letter from Minister Gibb in which he outlines the Government’s ambition for our profession across all career stages stating that Delivering World-Class Teacher Development is the “golden thread of support that teachers can draw on at every stage of their careers”. Within the letter, he also explains that “The backbone of these delivery partners will be Teaching School Hubs, who will be essential to the success of these reforms”.

The DfE has made investing in the workforce a central part of its recovery effort. After a challenging year, it’s really encouraging to see the Government investing in teacher development. They are now finalising how this will be spent on the ECF Full Induction Programme and the NPQs, but it’s a very welcome investment.

Early years training

£153 million will provide the opportunity for evidence-based professional development for early years practitioners, including through new programmes focusing on key areas such as speech and language development for the youngest children.

ECF update

For schools who have not yet signed up:

Over the next few weeks, schools will need to decide how they will be ensuring that all Early Career Teachers (ECTs) receive a programme of support based upon the Early Career Framework (ECF). We are pleased to be offering the Full Induction Programme for all schools in Wirral and Liverpool. In order to do this we will be working with University College London (UCL).

To help schools better understand these new statutory induction requirements, we are holding a webinar to talk through the necessary actions for schools to take. There will be time for colleagues to ask questions within these sessions, however if you simply require the information, please watch the recording of our previous webinar ECF Information webinar

The next webinar will take place on:

Monday 21st June, 2pm-2:45pm

5% time off timetable for NQT+1

As part of the education recovery package, it was announced teachers in their second year will have 5% funded time off timetable to access training - a year earlier than previously planned. The further £32m cost of this will be met through existing DfE schools budgets. Further detail regarding the payment mechanism and what this means for schools will be announced shortly.

NPQ update

Alongside further investment in the Early Career Framework reforms, £184 million of new funding for NPQs was announced to be spent over the course of this parliament. Further detail on how the funding will be used to provide scholarships for NPQs will be provided shortly.

The 3 existing NPQs in senior leadership, headship and executive leadership have been updated and reformed.

The existing NPQ in middle leadership has been replaced with 3 new NPQs for teachers and leaders who want to develop their expertise in the specialist areas of:
