Ticketless materials purchasing!

From Student Communications
OCAD U is delighted to let you know that in early 2017, our new materials purchasing system, Payable, will roll out to all Shops & Studios.
Currently in pilot in the Fibre Studio, Payable allows you go online to load funds onto a Materials Account using a credit card, Visa debit card or debit card.  Once your account is loaded, you’ll be able to purchase supplies directly in the studio simply by presenting your student ID card.

Payable also allows you to go online and load funds onto your PaperCut account, which you can use for self-serve print on campus, print jobs at the Digital Print Centre (51 McCaul Street), and order prints online.

The new system, once thoroughly tested and rolled out to all studios, will allow us to retire and phase out the old class supply tickets and print vouchers that students had to purchase from the Bookstore. Yay!

Because we’re currently testing the new system only in the Fibre Studio, newly loaded Materials accounts can only be used in that studio. However, you can load and use your
PaperCut account for printing right away.

Both Materials and PaperCut accounts can be loaded online. Read the FAQs to learn more, and watch your student email for updates.

OCAD University graduate programs

Our graduate programs also offer you unique opportunities to become a global leader in the emerging field of inclusive design, an innovator and creator of digital media and new technologies, an expert in design strategy and foresight thinking or a health care designer in North America’s only interdisciplinary Design for Health program. Some of our programs have online and part-time options. Our programs connect you to galleries, festivals and exhibitions around Toronto. Graduates of our programs go on to pursue PhDs around the world, and take up positions as curators, art critics, educators and professional artists and designers as well as positions in business, health care, government and more. They are your opportunity to meet instructors, students and alumni from the program to help you learn more about courses, the learning environment and degree outcomes.

Winter semester: fitness & well-being

From Campus Life
Did you know that 20 to 30 minutes of physical activity a few times a week can boost your energy, improve concentration, reduce stress and clear your mind for creativity and inspiration?

Sign up for winter semester intramural sports! All teams must be co-ed. You can sign up as a team with a group of friends, or as a free agent and be assigned to a team. If they fit your schedule, play more than one sport! Intramural schedules do not conflict.

Take time out to come home to self. A weekly one-hour session will allow you to turn inwards to reduce stress and tension from the inside out.

Find out what recreational facilities are within 2.5 kilometers of OCAD U, convenient to a break in your studies or your commute to and from school. The two closest facilities (GoodLife McCaul and Grange Fitness) are currently offering great membership deals for students, faculty and staff.
