Multi-faith prayer space
From Deanne Fisher, Vice-Provost, Students & International
I’m pleased to let you know that after collaborating with various staff, departments, faculty and students across the institution, we will be making a multi-faith prayer space available in Room 657 in 100 McCaul Street. This room requires a small amount of preparation for this use, so we anticipate having it ready for students to use in early March.

There has been some student feedback questioning our prioritization of this space above much-needed study and studio space at OCAD U. Concerns have been raised that, by creating this space, we might be somehow cutting student access to valuable study space. This is not the case. Students need to understand that providing multi-faith space is a human rights obligation, and that OCAD U’s Campus Life office has been accommodating this need already for the last few years by coordinating student group bookings of Room 187, as needed. PAYABLE Update: materials accounts

Stay on top of finances
From Financial Aid & Awards
We are now more than half-way through the winter semester and you may be feeling like you are not in the right financial path. Not to worry! Here are a few tips to keep your finances in check!
This will help you see where your money is going and if you are over-spending. You can easily download your bank app and access it on the go.

Live within your needs. Take care of your needs before your wants, ask yourself “Do I really NEED this?” or "Can it wait?"

Know what items cost, be as frugal as you can, and look for ways to save. (coupons, deals, sales etc.)

Enjoy the journey as a student and remember, you are building a foundation for a successful future.

If you are feeling overwhelmed, come and talk to us!

The Financial Aid & Awards department is here to help! Check out our website for more information about the services we offer. For more tips and tools on managing your finances, follow us on Instagram!
