Well, I ended last month’s newsletter with this line: “I expect March to be a much more interesting month, so hopefully I’ll have more to include in my next newsletter.” As it turns out, that was thoroughly incorrect. March was a bit rubbish and not very productive on the writing front.

I continue to pick away at the drafts of both Magical Moonlighting and Golden Vigilante. I’ve been having unexpected difficulty with Magical Moonlighting. The first two short stories both flowed quite easily, but I’ve been struggling to get words on paper with this third one. Unfortunately that’s just part of writing; as with any other job, sometimes the work is easy and sometimes it’s not. I’m satisfied with the outline, the story feels right in my head, but it doesn’t want to come out of my head onto the page.

Still, I am making progress, however slowly, and hopefully April will be more productive thanks to Camp NaNoWriMo. Having a specific word count goal and a lovely little graph that charts my progress always encourages me to get more writing done. If all goes to plan, I’ll have Magical Moonlight done and Golden Vigilante at least halfway drafted by the end of April. Here’s hoping this month’s prediction is more accurate than last month’s!
