Good afternoon, Needham! Congratulations to all the newly elected and re-elected residents to Town offices! You can find the full results from Tuesday’s Annual Election on the Town Clerk’s Website. A special welcome to new Select Board member Heidi Frail and new Planning Board Member Artie Crocker. And thank you to Dan Matthews and Marty Jacobs for their dedicated service to the Town in their years as Select Board member and Planning Board member respectively. Also, starting today, the Town website has a new look! A mobile app for the Town is in development and will launch soon. Finally, Town Offices will be closed Monday, April 18th in observance of Patriots’ Day. Good luck to any Needhamites running the Boston Marathon - we’ll be cheering for you! |

Annual Spring Town Meeting Set for Monday, May 2nd |
| Annual Town Meeting will be held beginning Monday, May 2nd. The meeting will begin at 7:30 pm in Powers Hall in Town Hall. The meeting will be carried live on the Needham Channel’s Municipal Channel and HD Channel. If you’re in Needham, the Municipal Channels are 99 on Comcast, 30 on Verizon and 13 on RCN. The HD Channel is available on Verizon 2129 and streams live through the Needham Channel’s website. For more information about Town Meeting, including meeting logistics and the warrant, please visit the Town Meeting webpage. Video presentations on each Warrant Article will be available on the Town’s YouTube page after April 22nd. | |

Lab, Office Complex Proposed for Former Muzi SiteThe Bullfinch Companies, buyers of the former Muzi site on Highland Ave., is proposing to build a nearly 500,000 square foot office, laboratory and research center at 557 Highland Ave. The company has filed an application for a Special Permit with the Town’s Planning Board. The Planning Board will hold a public hearing on the application on Tuesday, June 7, 2022. More information to come. In the meantime, you can find more information about the parcel and proposed project on the Town’s website. |

Town Launches 2022 Community Survey with Polco |
Beginning this week, about 2,800 homes will receive a notice in the mail inviting them to participate in the Town of Needham 2022 Community Survey. This survey has been conducted every two years (prior to COVID) and was formerly known as the National Citizen Survey. This survey will help the Town identify priorities and areas for improvement. The Town has partnered with Polco to conduct this survey. Following this initial period of data collection from the identified sample of residents, the Town will open up the survey to all members of the community. More information will be available on that in the coming weeks. |

Aging Services Division Hosting Free “Out to Dinner” Series for LGBTQ+ Community and Allies |
| Needham’s Aging Services Division is hosting a series of three free dinners to support LGBTQ+ seniors in the community. The dinners are open to all who identify as LGBTQ+ and anyone who is an ally. The dinners are free but registration is required. The first dinner will be held Thursday, April 28th from 5:30 to 6:30 pm at the Center at the Heights. Please call 781-455-7444 to register. |

More Ways to Celebrate Arbor Day - Townwide Cleanup and Sapling Pick-Up with Park and Recreation |
Needham Park and Rec and Public Works are teaming up to celebrate Arbor Day with a Spring Townwide Clean Up and Sapling Pick-Up. Join your neighbors to clean-up the Town. Supplies will be provided at the Rosemary Recreation Complex. We ask that you pre-register with the number of participants to ensure there are enough supplies. Have a favorite park or trail you'd like to give a little extra TLC? Let Park and Rec know so they can assign you there!
Dates: Saturday April 30 and Sunday May 1
Supply Pick Up Times:
Friday April 29, 9 am to 5 pm
Saturday April 30, 9 am to 12 pm On Saturday, April 30, tree saplings will be available at the Rosemary Recreation Complex for pick-up. This tradition allows families to celebrate the many benefits of trees by planting their very own! Stop by Park and Recreation on Saturday, April 30 from 9 am to 12 pm to get yours.

Needham Youth & Family Services Seeking RAY of Hope Nominations |
| Needham Youth and Family Services is now seeking nominations for the RAY of Hope Program (Recognize A Youth), designed to identify young people who have performed outstanding service to the Needham community and/or who by their actions are excellent role models for their peers. The RAY of Hope Program is a recognition that young people and their development are of critical importance to the functioning of the Needham community and our collective futures. Needham Youth & Family Services will accept nominations at any time from local businesses, schools, religious or civic groups, or individuals, for young people who are deserving of recognition. APRIL 14th: Co-sponsored by Temple Beth Shalom Environmental Action Committee and Green Needham, Needham Community Farm hosts Landscaping with Native Plants Thursday, April 14th at 7:30 pm. Needham resident Joanne Neale, owner of Garden Mentor landscape design and consulting will talk about the benefits of native plants, how to prepare and what kinds of natives are available. Joanne’s gardening philosophy is based on low-maintenance, sustainability and organic methods, with an emphasis on native plants. This event is free. Register on the Community Farm’s website.
APRIL 16th: Paint Collection Day at the RTS. The Swap Shop will be closed that day to accommodate paint drop-off.
APRIL 24th: Brian O’Donovan and Friends at the Needham Free Public Library. Register to join on Sunday, April 24, at 2:00 PM, as Brian O’Donovan, host of A Celtic Sojourn on WGBH radio, presents a contemplative celebration of the spoken word. Brian’s guests will perform the poetry and prose of great Irish writers along with music that complements or interprets the spoken pieces. This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Needham Public Library and is currently scheduled to be a live event in the Community Room. .
