Good afternoon, Needham!

Last week’s newsletter included information about dog license requirements for the upcoming year. If you haven’t yet licensed your furry friend for the upcoming year, you can visit the Town Clerk’s website to learn more.

There are a few other important reminders when it comes to your dogs — please obey the Town’s pet waste removal and leash laws. Section 3.7 of the Town’s bylaws pertain to dog regulations. We’ve seen an increase in pet owners failing to pick up after their dogs, making it hard for our public works crews to safely do their work on the Town’s fields, parks and other public areas. In addition, pet waste poses a real threat to the health and safety of the environment.

Leash laws protect you, your pet and your neighbors. Please keep your dog leashed when outside of your home.

Thanks for your cooperation and consideration. We love your dogs but please be considerate of the community!

High Quality Masks Recommended Indoors by CDC, Needham Board of Health

The Centers For Disease Control (CDC) last week updated its guidance to recommend that people consider wearing KN95 or surgical masks rather than cloth masks as the Omicron variant continues to be highly transmissible. The Needham Board of Health recommends people wear high-quality masks in indoor settings. To learn more about the types of masks and how to best protect yourself, visit the CDC's website.

The Biden administration has announced it will be distributing 400 million N95s soon.
