 UPCOMING EXHIBITIONS

December 9 - December 23, 2010 ( or longer!!)
opening reception: Thursday December 9  6-8 pm

Postmasters Gallery will present two projects:

EAT ME!
A show about indulgence in edibles and copulation organized by PAULINA BEBECKA

Monica Cook, Succi, 2008, oil on canvas, 48 x 48 inches

It is quite obvious that eating and fornicating are activities residing on top of the list for beings of all sorts, even the homo sapiens. As with any other mundane things, food and sex are subject to perversions which lurk around every corner. Instead of discussing it in much detail, as we all know these activities too well; instead of writing a PhD about it, I’ll just show you what happened when some artists encountered, thought about, twisted and churned out work about edibles and coitus in unison.

These artists include: SEAN BLUECHEL, MONICA COOK, MICHAEL MEADS, and MARILYN MINTER

During the month of continuous celebrations let’s rejoice in the most important activities of our lives!
           (-Paulina Bebecka)

&

PLAYLIST
organized by PADDY JOHNSON (Art Fag City) with STEVEN STERN

A response to “Play”, the Guggenheim’s recent YouTube exhibition and exercise in co-branding, “Playlist” is about how people actually use online video today. It’s a peek at the “favorites” of a select group of artists, writers, and musicians; an exercise in sharing, taking place in the old-fashioned realm of actual public space. It doesn’t add anything new to the world--instead, it looks at the strange archival richness that’s already there on the Net.

Contributors include WILL BRAND, DANIEL DAVIDSON, TRICIA KEIGHTLEY, ANNA MCCARTHY, MOMUS, JAVIER MORALES, SHANA MOULTON, JEAN-MICHEL REED, AND AMY YAO
