Art is a moving target.
Ch-Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes at Postmasters
Postmasters Gallery is very pleased to announce new developments:
After nine amazing years, our New York director Paulina Bebecka will be relocating to Rome becoming Postmasters’ director-at-large and our liaison in Europe. The office in Rome will serve as an outpost for curatorial development, local production, pop-up exhibitions, special projects and art fairs.
Kerry Doran has been appointed the new director of Postmasters. She will begin on April 11, 2017.
A writer, curator, editor, and programmer, Kerry Doran recently contributed research and writing to David Diao's retrospective at the Ullens Center for Contemporary Art, Beijing. She is currently collaborating with the Stolbun Collection on an upcoming Ultra Violet Production House exhibition.
Doran is a frequent contributor to exhibition catalogues, artist books, and independent publications. Her curatorial projects have been featured in Artforum, artnet, ARTnews, The Huffington Post, Hyperallergic, Modern Painters, the New York Times, Rhizome, and the Village Voice, among others.
Doran previously worked as the director at bitforms gallery and prior to that was a member of the inaugural staff at the New Museum's NEW INC. In 2013, she was an Associate Scholar at the Courtauld Institute of Art.
Doran holds an MA from the Courtauld, where she graduated with distinction in 2013, and degrees from the University of Colorado Boulder, summa cum laude.
Paulina Bebecka has been with Postmasters since January 2008. Throughout this time the Sotheby’s Institute of Art London alumna developed critically acclaimed exhibitions and projects in-house and beyond, including co-founding +ArtApp in 2015, an organization dedicated to promoting the intersection of art and technology. Bebecka’s most recent show for Postmasters this one is smaller than this one…(2016) traveled to Galerist in Istanbul, Turkey and to Vienna the same year.
Between 2011 and 2015 in addition to her work at Postmasters, Bebecka managed over 40 contemporary art projects as the Curator for the Visual Arts Program at the Polish Cultural Institute New York with major top US institutions such as MOMA and the New Museum, among others.
We are thrilled,
