I2B updates

What we've been doing to inspire the youth....

Alternative action sports by Chris
-Club feedback- The I2B Strand skate and skim club in my car, listening to music.

Elzane from the I2B Strand skim club just before his matric farewell. It is great to see him finish school after being in the skim club for three years. We are so proud of him.

-The Bowl Braai Beats Bonanza- Some more pics from the event. Clifford Viljoen has helped us finish the bowl. He was there basically every time when Scott and I had the tools ready to build. I2B rewarded him with a pair of Xsjado skates for his hard work and dedication. Cliff has also recently launched his own rollerblading website called Knuckles. Take a peek. We will partnering on events and some projects. Thanks for joining the I2B Team, Knuckles!

-I2B at the Shofar International Conference called Convergence- This was an amazing conference. Really changed my life. I was asked to join a panel discussion called "church out of the box". It was such a privilege to share the stage with these great people.

-The Mega Sport Classic- I2B got invited to Bredasdorp for a weekend to do the mobile skatepark for the youth at the Mega Sport Classic. We took some of our own guys to also do some demo skating.

-The A-Frame grindbox finished

Athletics for people with disabilities by Fanie

-First competitions of the Athletics season- We had a good start to the season with some new athletes joining us.

-Maties 2014 Sport Awards- Fanie received the award for sportsman of the year with a disability.

-Class Visit at Courtrai Primary school- Before the Commonwealth Games this class sent us a video message saying all the best, we replied with a thank you. After the Games we had the opportunity to visit this class, at first they were very shy, but when they started asking questions they could not stop. The teacher gave us a quote of one of the young girls: " teacher today I hold a Commonwealth medal which is not my own, but in eight years time I will hold my own Commonwealth medal".

-The Mega Sport Classic and Simondium outreach- At both these events I was invited to share my story with the people. After the event at the Mega Sport Classic we had some fun playing table tennis.
