Dear Readers,
What a year! Here comes my last note as your STC North Texas Lone Star Chapter President. We started the year with a vision to grow our chapter and our members; to create a growth path. I am thankful to the leadership team for making this year such a success despite all challenges.
A huge thank you to Agnes Crentsil for creating and rolling out the NTLSC Mentorship and Leadership Program. Kudos to Zohra Mutabanna for expanding the social media team and extending the chapter’s presence to more social media outlets. Thanks to Jennifer Prior Schledorn and Celeste Graeff for leading the CAA efforts. A huge thank you to Agnes and Bob for their continued support and encouragement for chapter members and for me personally. Words cannot express my gratitude to Beth Allphin for serving diligently as our treasurer for the past three years. As a chapter and individuals, we have made many new professional connections and new friends.
As I transition into my new role as immediate past president, I am excited to work alongside the incoming team.
As writers and technical communicators, the sky's the limit to what we learn and how we affect the areas we are involved in. Writing, balancing documentation and visual clues, improving user experience, fine-tuning content to match our audience, researching, analyzing, problem solving, tracking progress and reporting, are some of the many activities that we perform on a daily basis.
Thank you again for sharing this exciting year with us. I encourage you to keep a close eye and get involved in upcoming opportunities to serve and grow with our chapter.
Happy Holidays and best wishes for a prosperous New Year.
Stay strong, stay safe, and stay curious,
Esther Asham
NTLSC President
