Vauxhall Energy funded and generating
Vauxhall Energy has installed a 65 kW solar array on 5 buildings of the Vauxhall Gardens estate in south London, SE11. The project is community owned, with the overwhelming support of local residents, the residents' association, local businesses, ward councillors and the borough council. £54,741 was raised of the £50,430 goal from 81 investors.

By engaging with local communities, landowners and businesses, the project aims to create a network of interconnected community Energy Gardens at London’s Overground rail stations.

In April IEL did a very successful guided walk of Brixton food growing projects most of which feature on their printed map. More to come. Watch the IEL website.
The new IEL Discussion Forum is up and running on the IEL website. It includes a wants and offers board, and lots of themed discussions. Join IEL and register. We hope to enable Local Food projects to do events and sell more local produce at the Urban Food Fortnight, 21 Sept - 7 Oct. If you want to get involved email us. Open Project Night is 2 years old. Founded by the Impact Hub and Transition Town Brixton it continues to be the 'watering-hole for community organising in Brixton' every Monday night. See here for the progress report.
