Together towards a better future:         Newsletter April 2017
Tomorrow (Demain) Film
On Tuesday 2nd May, TTB is happy to be promoting a screening of Tomorrow (Demain), the groundbreaking documentary about transition to a better future. The screening will be FREE, first come, first served, 6.30 for 7pm, at Elm Green School. Elmcourt Road, London, SE27 9BZ and has been organised by Lambeth for a Cool Planet as part of the Herne Hill film festival.
TTB will have a stall, and so will Brixton Pound. More projects are welcome, this will be a good chance to tell people about what are you doing. We look forward to seeing you there!

Bank of Lambeth project update
Imagine if we could harness the tide of money that swills in and out of Lambeth every month to benefit the local economy and community.
At our latest meeting on Monday 10th April we worked on a survey to use with individuals and local businesses to establish what interest there is in the Bank of Lambeth and how they would like to use it. We will be doing the surveys over the next few months. We also talked about how to partner with Brixton Pound's Brixton Fund. Look out for future dates for our meetings and workshops where we will decide how the Bank of Lambeth will operate.
Read background on the project and follow facebook group for the latest.

Brixton Fund open.
Deadline to apply: 2 May 2017
The Brixton Fund is the Brixton Pound's micro-grants fund, financed by revenue from the Brixton Bonus (the community lottery), B£ merchandise sales in the Brixton Pound Shop, 1.5% transaction fees when people spend B£s using their mobile phones, and sponsorship from Brixton businesses. The Fund supports local individuals and groups that might struggle to access larger funding pots, and work in Brixton to:
  • Strengthen and benefit communities
  • Take action for social justice
  • Increase local employment opportunities
The application window is open until 10am Tuesday 2 May. More information here
