Welcome Spring with a class in the Learning Center!

Get out of you winter rut and spice it up in the Learning Center this Spring! Bring your kids along for fun in our 'Kids in the Kitchen' series, where classes range from silly to serious, savory to sweet and everything in between. This month kids will be cooking Stromboli,  monkey bread and more! Plus we have a great selection of hands-on and demonstration classes for adults, both new and popular re-runs like 'No Sugar, Dairy or Wheat? So What Can I Eat?' and 'The Proper Chop: Knife Skills 101." We are also offering a variety of free health and wellness lectures so you can spring into the new season on the right foot!

Cooking Classes
The Eastern Pantry: Asian Ingredients 101
Tues 3/5, 5:30-8:00, Hands-on- $45
The flavor palette of Asian cuisine is a complex one, which probably explains why the foods of these cultures are so wildly delicious.  In this exciting hands-on class, we’ll discuss the intense contrasts of flavor used to accomplish the fabulous flavors of Eastern foods.

Cooking with Plant Based Proteins

Plant-based proteins are highly beneficial for your health. Veggies, legumes, and grains can provide as much protein as meat while adding fiber and complex carbohydrates to your diet. Plus, they’re TOTALLY delicious! In this class, Learning Center Instructor Gerda Lederer will show you some of her favorite ways to incorporate plant-based proteins into meals.

Stromboli are flavor-packed pizza pockets; in this class, we’ll be making the ooey-gooey favorites from scratch! First, kids will mix up a delicious ricotta cheese filling with fresh pesto, herbs, and parmesan cheese. Then we’ll stretch some dough, spread some filling, and up the ante with grated mozzarella and yummy pepperoni. More Info

What could be better than breakfast on a stick? This fun kids’ class transforms a classic weekend treat into a hand-held breakfast experience! Kids will begin by making a spiced apple compote, which they’ll sandwich in-between two slices of batter-soaked bread.
