Increasing Access to Justice for Our Communities

LGBTQ2S communities experience barriers to accessing justice systems, including the lack of queer- and trans-competent services, and instances of homophobia, transphobia, racism, xenophobia, and other forms of discrimination.

Through our Access to Justice and Legal Initiatives, The 519 is supporting 2Spirit, queer, and trans communities, including folks who are street-involved, homeless, or under-housed, reducing barriers to accessing relevant legal services and education.

Close to 1500+ clients have received support through our various clinics. We are grateful for the funding support of The Law Foundation of Ontario and the dedication of our volunteer lawyers.
