CVWMA Joins U.S. Plastics Pact
A Message from Our Executive Director 

Central Virginia Waste Management Authority (CVWMA) is proud to announce its participation in the U.S. Plastic Pact, an agreement to work collectively towards a common vision of a circular economy for plastics. The first North American Pact of its kind, the U.S. Pact is a collaboration led by The Recycling Partnership, World Wildlife Fund  (WWF), and the Ellen MacArthur Foundation.  Read our full announcement here

The Authority is excited to be part of the of the U.S. Plastics Pact, furthering our mission to affect change that is productive and that will have lasting positive impacts on the environment locally and globally.

Labor Day Holiday to Delay CVWMA Collections

There will be no residential recycling or residential trash collections on Monday, September 7  (Labor Day). All collections the week of September 7- 11 will have a one day delay in collection service. Friday collections will take place on Saturday.

Middle James Roundtable Annual Conference 

The annual watershed conference hosted by the Middle James Roundtable (MJRT) will be held virtually this year on Friday, September 18. The theme is " Degraduation, Restoration and Where We Go From Here?" and speakers will cover the recovery of the James River from one of the most polluted rivers in America to a thriving recreational, commercial, and cultural resource. Register now.

Upcoming Special Recycling Events

The City of Richmond Department of Public Works  is hosting a electronics recycling and document shredding  event  for city residents on Saturday, September 12.  In addition, on Friday, September 28, Keep Virginia Beautiful and Retail Merchants Association will be offering a recycling event which includes document shredding from 10 am - 2 pm.
