What are YOU doing for Earth Day?

All across central Virignia, cities and counties are planning events to help the environment this spring. With the 45th Annual Celebration of Earth Day and warmer temperatures right around the corner, these events provide great opportunities for citizens to get out an enjoy the community and learn ways to help the evnironment.
 

Special Collection Recycling Events Planned for April and May

CVWMA has several electronics recycling collection events scheduled for April and May. Visit our  Event Calendar for more information about locations, accepted items, fees (if applicable) and directions. Some of our member localities are offering additional collections such as document shredding; tire amnesty; and household hazardous waste (HHW) to coincide with e-cycling events.

CVWMA's Recycling Wizard

CVWMA wants to help you recycle. Our Recycling Wizard feature  provides information and recycling options where you live.

CVWMA Recycles: 25 Milestones in 25 Years

CVWMA incorporated on December 20,1990 through the cooperation of the Richmond Regional and Crater Planning District Commissions and thirteen localities.

1991 - CVWMA office and staff established; Curbside recycling service begins with 19,680 homes in Richmond, Chesterfield, Henrico, Colonial Heights, Ashland, and Hanover.
 
1992 - Regional Solid Waste Management Plan is developed; Drop-off Recycling, White Goods and Metal recycling, Refuse Collection, and Wood Waste programs established.
