CEQA Guidelines Implementing SB 226 Approved by the State
We are trying to help the Office of Planning and Research (OPR) get the word out about the approval of important amendments to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) guidelines for streamlining of qualified infill projects! The amendments are now in effect.
The infill streamlining guidelines were proposed in compliance with Senate Bill (SB) 226, Statutes of 2011 (Simitian). OPR and the California Natural Resources Agency have developed the draft guidelines, conducted public review, and transmitted the proposed final guidelines to the Office of Administrative Law (OAL). Last week, OAL concluded its rulemaking process and transmitted the final CEQA guideline amendments to the Secretary of State, which put the SB 226 CEQA Guidelines additions into effect. adds the following provisions to the State CEQA Guidelines:
