12th Annual CEQA Conference near Union Square, San Francisco December 12 – 13, 2016, Hotel Nikko
In 2016, the Supreme Court made progress on its CEQA case backlog. In addition, the appellate courts contributed other pertinent decisions and the Governor’s Office of Planning and Research has been working diligently on Guidelines amendments. There was no shortage of important CEQA developments this year.

Please join co-chairs, Curtis E. Alling of Ascent Environmental and Al Herson of Sohagi Law Group, along with over 100 other environmental professionals, for CLE International’s 12th Annual CEQA Super Conference in San Francisco, when the City is all decorated for the Holidays. Whether you are an attorney, planner, consultant, agency staff, or project applicant, the conference will update you on important 2016 events and provide valuable, practical CEQA information you can put to use immediately. You can earn MCLE or AICP credits. The conference brochure describes the full two-day schedule.

Venue

We are returning to our long-time venue, Hotel Nikko, just a block from Union Square. This is a great spot both for the conference and for exploring one of the centers of dining and shopping in the City.

Keynote Speaker

We are very fortunate that Ken Alex, the Director of the Governor’s Office of Planning and Research, is our keynote speaker. He is at the center of the Governor’s programs for planning and the environment, and we look forward to hearing his observations about the State of CEQA in California.

Informative Sessions

The presenters include over 20 leading CEQA attorneys, planners, and scientists. This year’s sessions have been approved for MCLE and AICP credit and include:
  • 2016 case law and legislative update
  • CEQA and general plans
  • CEQA and the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act
  • GHG analysis after the Newhall Ranch decision
  • Climate adaptation, CEQA, and impacts of the environment on projects
  • AB 52 tribal consultation in practice
  • Ethics for CEQA practitioners
  • CEQA and the housing affordability crisis
The conference gives you the chance to visit San Francisco adorned for the Holidays. The CLE conference website provides a registration page. For room reservations, please call the Hotel Nikko reservations manager (Kim Earls, 415.394.1111 or 800.645.5687).
