Hey Blues Fans,

On Friday I put out a Free Lesson to commemorate the 30th anniversary of SRV's final performance, and tragic passing.

Learn SRV's EPIC Final Solo

SRV's Final Solo

I've updated this lesson from 2015 with several improvements like picking angle, progression counter, on-screen tabs, and slow motion lick demos.

The solo is a combination of all the licks/choruses that SRV played during his final performance, jamming to Sweet Home Chicago at Alpine Valley Theater in 1990.

I will be sending out the FULL TABS for this lesson in two weeks. The link will only be sent out one time. You will need to open and read email to get the downloads.

If You Missed It

Here's a review of other lessons and videos published at TXBA over the past few weeks.

SRV Honey Bee Alternate Intro

In this lesson I'll show you a different way of playing the intro to the song "Honey Bee" by Stevie Ray Vaughan. I first noticed this while cleaning up the "Live at Rockpalast" videos for the Vintage Blues In 4K channel. This variation isn't any harder to play, but it's just different enough to get someone's attention.

How To Mute Bends

Sometimes when bending a string, you need to release the bend at the peak without letting the bent note descend. But releasing a bent string without causing noisy ringing strings is tricky. In this lesson I'll show you several ways to control this noise.

Those Sliding Hendrix Chords From Little Wing

Those chords are instantly recognizable. They're not complicated, but playing the slides the right way is the secret to getting that signature Hendrix sound.

Using Your Middle Finger To Play Scuttle Buttin'

In this lesson we will literally be giving the song "Scuttle Buttin'" the finger. Trust me, it makes sense, just watch the lesson.
