Dear friends and family,
Most of you know that we recently spent 5 weeks in Ethiopia finishing our adoption of Moses. Some of you we saw or met in Ethiopia. Others of you read along as Heidi posted about our experiences. Some of you undoubtedly haven't heard the good news yet. So it is with great joy that I announce, Moses is now officially part of our family and a citizen of the United States of America. We've been back for close to two weeks now, and we are very thankful to God for bringing us through to the end of the 4 year process.
In a lot of ways, adoption is like church planting. You never know how long it will take or whether you will finally succeed. Both require sacrifice and a lot of work. Many people don't understand the point, or share your vision. Some people will even disapprove, but many more will support you. If God blesses it though, the outcome is a growing family.
God has used our adoptions of Tate and Moses to give us many opportunities to share the gospel with others. Everybody has questions. Everybody wants to know why you adopted, how long it took, how much it cost. Anybody who hears us talk about Moses is shocked by what he was rescued from. Many people express how lucky our sons were to be adopted by us.
The truth is, those who claim the name of Jesus have been adopted out of a far worse situation and into a far better family than Heidi and I could ever make. That family is Christ's church, and it is our desire to see many more adopted into God's family in Cincinnati in the coming years.
Love in Christ,
P.S. Anybody can sign up to get these emails, so let them know they should!
