Join NCHN leaders to WorkShop  enhancements for a service you offer.  What is WorkShopping?  Any participant will be able to provide a three minute overview of a current or proposed service or product. In addition, the participant will have a chance to pose one question.  The questions might look like:   Who else might want to purchase this service?  What might alternative pricing look like?  What value-add might we add to this product?  The following 7 minutes are dedicated to WorkShopping the question and the service/product.  There are no wrong answers.  There is unlimited creativity, best practices and boundless innovation.  Join this creative session.  Your board and community members will benefit!

Funding Finder


Rural Cooperatives Funded: Department of Agriculture-The Rural Cooperative Development Grant program provides support to improve the economic condition of rural areas by assisting in the startup, expansion, or operational improvement of rural cooperatives & other business entities. Deadline 5/26/17. 
Support for Nonprofit/Foundation Collaborations: Fund for Shared Insight: Listen for Good - The Fund for Shared Insight, administered by Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors, is a multi-year collaborative effort among funders that pools financial and other resources to make grants to improve philanthropy. Listen for Good, an initiative of the Fund for Shared Insight, invites nonprofit organizations and funders to join in exploring a systematic and rigorous way of getting feedback from the people who are benefiting from foundation funding. In order to participate in Listen for Good, a nonprofit organization must be nominated by an existing or new funder. Applicants must have a minimum annual budget of $500,000 in the current and previous fiscal years. Deadline is May 26, 2017.

GrantStation: Creating Time: Keeping the Pipeline Full for 2017  This webinar will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2017. 


 Technical Assistance for Broadband Funding Wednesday, April 19, 10:30 am to 2:30 pm ET.  The National Telecommunications and Information Administration at the U.S. Department of Commerce will hold a half-day workshop on broadband planning and funding.  Participants will learn how to assess community needs and steps to take for building infrastructure from experts with public and private sector experience. 
Requirements for Emergency PreparednessApril 27 at 2:30 pm ET.  CMS will host a webinar reviewing requirements for providers and suppliers under the Emergency Preparedness RuleAll providers affected by the rule, including Rural Health Clinics, FQHC's & CAH's, are encouraged to learn more about requirements that must be met by November 15, 2017.

Perspectives on Rural Health.  The April 6th edition of the New England Journal of Medicine takes a deep dive into rural health with four articles, free to all readers
Ideas Requested: Medicare Advantage and Part D PlanApril 24.  CMS has finalized 2018 payment and policy updates for Medicare Advantage & Part D plans. CMS is requesting public input on how these programs can be improved. Provide feedback at PartCDcomments@cms.hhs.gov & include “2017 Transformation Ideas” in the subject line.
