K-12 Education Facilities

Since the firm’s founding in 1989, our personnel have provided extensive consulting services for both new and existing K-12 Educational Facilities.

Greenbusch has served as the Mechanical Engineer for projects at over 40 public school facilities, and provided acoustical and audio/video designs for hundreds of K-12 schools across Washington, Alaska, and Montana.

Recent News

Greenbusch consultants, Julie Wiebusch and Mark Rogers, presented "The Benefits and Challenges of Amplification in Classrooms" at the CEFPI Washington Chapter Dinner Meeting on October 25th.  Their presentation discussed audibility, amplification, and intelligibility and their roles in classroom acoustics and sound systems.

McDonald Elementary
F.A. McDonald Elementary School - Seattle, WA: Built in 1914, McDonald Elementary School was closed in 1981. Greenbusch provided the mechanical design for the renovation of this 4-story, 66,000sf school, in anticipation of its reopening in Fall 2012. The project included design for heating, ventilation, air conditioning, temperature controls, and plumbing systems.


Charles Wright
Charles Wright Academy - Tacoma, WA: The Language and Performing Arts Center contains the Donn Laughlin Theater, a black box / multi-purpose venue, as well as classrooms and music/performance practice spaces. Greenbusch provided architectural acoustical design, as well as noise control within the building.  They also provided Audio/Video consulting on this project.


Thunder Mountain High School
Thunder Mountain High School - New Juneau, AK: This new high school building included audio/video work for the auditorium, gymnasium, auxiliary gym, band room, choral room, and commons to serve 1,200 students. Greenbusch also provided acoustical design for this project.
