Jeff Moline, Lafayette Open Space Superintendent, was recently honored by the Boulder County Commission as Boulder County Youth Corps' 2009 Sponsor of the Year. Jeff was nominated by BCYC teamleaders Rita Seward and Tim Gonzalez for his excellent project management and strong field support for BCYC's Lafayatte team. Youth Corps Receives First Colorado BLM Stimulus Funds
The Western Colorado Conservation Corps was recently awarded one of the first American Recovery and Reinvestment Act projects from the Colorado State Office of the Bureau of Land Management. Alicia Oletski joins the Colorado Youth Corps Association with over eight years experience working in and with state agencies, local government agencies and community-based organizations serving at-risk youth and families in prevention, intervention and youth development programs. Alicia previously served as an AmeriCorps Promise Fellow at the Metro Denver Gang Coalition focusing on youth leadership development, violence prevention and service learning. Most recently she managed the Tony Grampsas Youth Services Tobacco Initiative at the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. Alicia earned her bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Evansville, Indiana and her graduate degree in Social Work from the University of Denver.
