A Shortage of Healthcare Workers Can Cause Potential Problems: The World Health Organization has recently reported that a major obstacle facing health care worldwide is a significant shortage of workers skilled in the health care field. Responses to influenza outbreaks, chronic diseases and other challenges are limited by a massive shortage of staff worldwide.

Not Dead Yet: The Spectre of Nursing Human Resource Shortages - Shortages are beginning to emerge, but they are primarily in areas of specialty practice such as, for example, critical care, the OR and mental health, areas where new graduates are poorly prepared to practise immediately on completion of their basic programs.
