Whole Body Health is our Goal
Three of our team made it up to Auckland for the Inaugural New Zealand Polestar Pilates conference in October. Brent Anderson (founder) and Shelley Power (Head of Education) joined us there along with some other amazing presenters. It was, as always, an inspiring meeting of our Polestar family and the focus of Whole Body Health: Healthy Mind, Healthy Body, Healthy Spirit reminded all those who attended that Pilates is the ultimate tool when working towards Whole body health. All of you are also on this path and hopefully you are not only doing your Pilates practise in the studio but finding ways to implement it in your daily life. When you leave the studio feeling taller, lighter and more relaxed remember this feeling and find ways to bring it back during your week and day to day activities. Try some of the following:

When your children are testing your patience, practise some Pilates breathing.

When you sit in your car adjust your rear view mirror to your tallest sitting position, then adjust your posture rather than the mirror if you sink down!

Before you get out of bed or fall asleep at night scan your body top to toe and back and become aware of what you’re feeling – perhaps a few Pilates bridges or swans or standing roll downs could help?? Allow your Pilates body awareness to infiltrate your body, mind and spirit this Holiday season. As the stress levels rise and the roads get busy allow a little more time to get places, and remind yourself to breathe. Enjoy your families and friends, be greatful for all the good things in your life. We look forward to seeing you all again in the New Year but until then we wish you all a restful and relaxing Christmas and New Year,

2013 Mat Class timetable
The full Term 1 2013 timetable starts Monday February 4th and is available on the website which is always the most up to date information. The timetable will have a few changes for next year. We are going to drop the Thursday 5.15pm Studio Group which has been low in numbers but the Tuesday 5.30pm will remain. The Beginners class will run again on Saturdays at 9.30am. It is important to register your interest now as our mat classes do fill quickly. The other classes remain unchanged and we will run the Monday 6.30am class for Term 1.

The New Year is always a great time to reassess your goals for the coming year. Those of you who are doing Mat classes and Studio Groups may be keen to make the most of the holiday period to fit in a Private one on one session to hone your technique and make sure you are working safely in classes. This is highly recommended for those in the Studio Groups to maintain safety and prevent injury during the sessions. Any mat or studio clients who book and pay for a Private session in the months of December and January will receive a 15% discount* on the normal rate.
*Conditions apply, booking by appointment only, must have attended classes in Term 4 of 2012, bookings must be made and paid for between December 1st and January 2013. Appointment may be outside this time depending on availability.
