Welcome to your October 2014 eNewsletter!

With the highest level now available, Skillful is a complete EAP program that stands out for a number of reasons.

Skillful has Reading & Writing and Listening & Speaking books at five levels, going from pre-intermediate to advanced levels. We love this series because it doesn't just pay lip service to current best practices, but puts them into action in carefully staged and stepped manner across the whole series.

Critical thinking skills are actually taught, moving from lower-order skills to higher order skills across the levels. In level 4, students are taught such things as how to identify logical fallacies, assessing whether research supports an argument and recognizing implicit assumptions.

As with the other levels, study skills are also explicitly taught, there is a strong digital component and specific language sub-skills are also developed. There are a variety of themes from across the disciplines and some stunning images as well! Follow the link below to learn more and to view table of contents and sample units.
