Danish Fashion Institute launches new platform

Designers, product developers and technologists have the power to change the clothing industry for the better. Today, ECAP partner the Danish Fashion Institute launches the Design for Longevity (DfL) platform – helping them to do just that.

Through the use of best practice and expertise, videos, case studies, and interactive graphics, this online tool helps designers, product developers, and technologists to create longer-lasting, more sustainable clothing.

Decisions made at the design phase can determine not only the style of a final product, but the overall impact it will have on the environment. The DfL platform aids the sector in making  informed decisions to influence industry and consumer practices towards extending the lifespan of garments.

Designers are often required to work to narrow briefs with little opportunity to stretch their creativity. The DfL platform helps expand the possibilities of design in easy-to-digest bite-size chunks of information, all whilst highlighting the business benefits of a more circular approach to clothing.

The platform is completely free of charge, brought to you through EU Life funding, as part of ECAP. ECAP’s mission is to cut the environmental impact of clothing across Europe. You can find out more on the ECAP website.
