Re-use News

Welcome to this special edition about partnerships

“Some of you will be aware that we launched a range of new material last week to help realise the financial, social and environmental benefits that can come from more re-use.   The new material is aimed at encouraging more partnerships between local authorities, waste management companies and third sector organisations.

“Keeping goods in use for longer is a critical part of delivering a circular economy.  Not only does it reduce pressures on raw materials but has the potential to create new jobs and training opportunities.  Successful partnerships are key to driving the sector forward, but it does need a concerted effort by all involved.  Done well and it will bring big benefits locally to councils, organisations, individuals and the economy.

“I encourage you to find out more about PAKTS and to share the web link with your colleagues.  Strong partnerships really are essential to developing a robust re-use sector.”

Kind regards
