In case you missed it, enjoy our recent Huffington Post article: Top Five Things Generation X Women Need to Know about Their Money.  On another note, please write a review of our first book. Fortunately, posting a review is easy; to get started, you might find it helpful to take a look at what others wrote.

Also newsworthy are our latest social media posts, that offer tips for answering a question we are often asked: "What do you need to consider when hiring a financial advisor?" Speaking of hiring, Entrust is currently seeking to hire a Portfolio Administrator. Our interviewing process led us to cultivate relationships with Temple University's Fox School of Business, and St. Joseph's University Haub School of Business.

Both universities now offer the Certified Financial Planner™ designation coursework as a degree program. As financial advisors, we are thrilled to see this premier credential awarded the stature it deserves. It is widely recognized as the highest industry standard for those offering financial advice. Kudos to Temple and St. Joe's for leading the way in this notable endeavor.

Ask yourself what you value most from your financial advisory relationship. Do you value working with someone who sells you products? Or is it your preference to partner with an advisor committed to a holistic perspective, an advisor who helps you make good financial choices in all aspects of your life? Our blog addresses this important topic. Remember to share it with family and friends.

Investment Committee Updates

In October we attended the Charles SCHWAB IMPACT 2016 conference where industry leaders offered presentations on a wide variety of subjects. Many sessions were geared toward updating us on current economic conditions and their potential impact on the capital markets in 2017. In answer to that all-important question: "Where should I put my money now?" the predominant views expressed were aligned with our Entrust philosophy–to sustain reliable returns and withstand volatility, broad diversification is essential. To that end, you may recall from last month's NewsWorthy that REITS are a recent addition to our asset class toolbox.

Information in this newsletter is for illustration purposes only and is not a promise of any particular investment result. It should not be considered tax or legal advice. Actual investment return and principal value of equities, bonds, REIT's, ETF's, and mutual funds will fluctuate so that an investor’s shares, when redeemed, may be worth more or less than their original cost. There are risks associated with investing, including the risk of loss of principal. There is no assurance that a diversified portfolio will result in better returns than an undiversified portfolio, nor does diversification assure against market loss.
