NTI's format is designed to provide an in-depth learning experience built around the Pyramid Model. The Institute brings together experts from around the country who skillfully present three-hour workshops offering practical, ready-to-use information on social and emotional development. It is an unparalleled opportunity to increase your skills, build a network of colleagues, and become part of a growing professional community who use the Pyramid Model. Life after the Centers! Announcing the Pyramid Model Consortium
Pyramid ModelWe have formed a consortium to sustain the work of the Center on the Social and Emotional Foundations for Early Learning (CSEFEL) and the Technical Assistance Center on Social Emotional Interventions for Young Children (TACSEI).  Continue to visit www.challengingbehavior.org  for access to all current and new materials.  The web site will be a portal for information on the new services and contract fees of the Pyramid Model Consortium including information on:
  • state capacity building
  • program-wide implementation training and technical assistance
  • international outreach
  • contracting with Pyramid Model consultants
  • training of trainers in multiple areas
  • training of coaches
  • expanded technical assistance services

Interested in Graduate Preparation on PBS?
Graduate StudyThe University of South Florida and the Florida Center for Inclusive Communities offer a fully online Graduate Certificate in Positive Behavior Support (PBS). This 12-credit-hour course of study prepares individuals from mental health, school psychology, school administration, education, early education, and social work to be effective members of the school, early childhood, or individual support team implementing PBS. The program includes classes focused on providing consultation and guiding collaboration, implementing school-wide PBS, addressing behavior challenges in young children, and intensive individualized interventions.  For more information visit the program website.

Addressing Young Children's Challenging Behaviors

YEC Monograph #15This latest edition to the YEC Monograph Series includes discussions of developmentally appropriate innovations to address the needs of children with challenging behaviors. These practitioner and family-friendly, evidence-based articles include topics such as tiered models of support, peer environments, visual supports, family-centered interventions and partnerships, coaching, culturally responsive methods, and implementation practices. TACSEI LogoThe Technical Assistance Center on Social Emotional Intervention for Young Children, (TACSEI) is a five-year grant made possible by the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs. TACSEI takes the research that shows which practices improve the social-emotional outcomes for young children with, or at risk for, delays or disabilities and creates FREE products and resources to help decision makers, caregivers, and service providers apply these best practices in the work they do every day.
