Join us for the Exquisite Corpse fundraiser party at The Wheaty!
By now we hope you've heard that we are super excited to have our very own show in the Adelaide Festival next year, Exquisite Corpse.
For this extensive project we have invited composers from Australia and beyond to write for electric string quartet in the world-first live musical version of the Surrealist parlour game Exquisite Corpse. Our composers, who include Zoë Barry & Jed Palmer, Belinda Gehlert, Kate Moore, Andrea Keller, Adam Page, JG Thirlwell, Jherek Bischoff, Erik Griswold, Jason Sweeney and more, pass the last musical fragment of their piece in a sequence to the next composer to create one, long seamless score. The live performance of Exquisite Corpse will feature live projected and manipulated art by digital media artists Luku Kukuku and Jo Kerlogue. The final piece will inevitably be surreal, quirky, extreme, vital, surprising and beautiful – unmissable!
To support the commissioning of this massive piece we need to raise some money - so we're having a party and you're invited!
Join us for an afternoon of music by us, Jason & Silver Moon (in a world premiere performance), and Jarrad Payne (one half of voiceROM). Plus games, a silent auction, door prizes, live art and more. Trust us, it'll be fun, plus it's our final public performance for the year.
Get your inner-artist on, bring some spare cash and join in the fun!
Saturday 21st November, 2pm - 5pm
The Wheatsheaf Hotel, George St, Thebarton.
$10 at the door.
If you can't make it to the party, but you'd still like to contribute to our fundraising campaign, we would also welcome your tax deductible donation through the Australian Cultural Fund. No matter the size, all donations are gratefully received and go towards paying composers to create new work - something we are very passionate about.
Meanwhile, tickets for the world premiere Adelaide Festival season of Exquisite Corpse (only two shows) are selling fast, so if you'd like to come, book here.
Thank you in advance for your support - we hope to see you there!
