MCEC President and CEO Visits Liza Jackson
Preparatory School in Okaloosa, Florida

Dr. Mary Keller presented Liza Jackson Preparatory School Principal Kaye McKinley and Chief Executive Officer Terri Roberts with a plaque recognizing the school’s support of military students.
“Dr. Keller told us that she hears from many military parents who move frequently, and they tell her about their experiences at different schools,” McKinley said. “The name Liza Jackson kept coming up, so she said she was very happy to come see us for herself.”

The Family Room:
Looking for Military Families
to Test New App to Ease Family Separation
The Family Room is a new application designed to support families in which children are separated by distance from loved ones. The app allows adults to customize a private, virtual room with activities and books tailored to their child’s interests where they can then engage in those activities together in real-time while using a video chat function.
The Family Room is currently looking for families to help test the app, in particular military families with children between the ages of 3-11 and in which one parent is currently stationed away from the family or traveling frequently.  Testing will begin in early September, 2015.
