Calling All Volunteers!
by Twyla Teitzel \
We appreciate all the volunteers.  Thank you.

Joanne will be back at the co-op on Friday, December 12th from 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm offering more delicious samples from the deli.

Save the date!  Saturday, September 19, 2015 is our Annual Farm to Table dinner.
We need your help to make this a memorable evening to honor the farmers and celebrate community.
Our next planning meeting is Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at 6:00 pm here at the co-op.
Idea people, planners, organizers and those who "just wanna have fun" are invited.  Refreshments will be served.  Please text, email or call Twyla and let her know you are coming so we have enough food!   916-521-4569 or twyla@placervillecoop.org

Volunteer just FOUR hours in December and you will earn a 10% discount in January every time you shop the co-op! Volunteer 12 hours in December and you will receive your 10% discount in January, February and March.

Thank you to all the volunteers who have given so much to the co-op and the community in 2014. You truly make a difference.

A Holiday Gift Idea for Owners!

Complete your Ownership investment (pay off your  membership) !

What a nice gift to yourself; it will feel good, and you will get a $10 gift card in appreciation.  If many Owners can complete their Owner investment, our Co-op will have more working capital – a benefit for any business,  Owner investment is our best and biggest source of working capital.  What a great gift for our Co-op!

Now, not to feel bad if you can’t complete your Owner payments right now.  How about a double payment or an extra payment of any amount?  More shopping, more word-of-mouth to friends, or more volunteering are also gifts that are good for your Co-op.

Happy Holidays to all of us!  And shop the Co-op;  we own it!

Owner Services News
by Julie Silvey,  julie@placervillecoop.org.
Thank you to all who have been bringing shopping bags in to the store,
either for our bag lending program or your own shopping use.  We will continue to take donations of clean, reusable bags as well as previously used paper bags, all in good condition.  This enables the co-op to cut back on its own purchase and use of new bags.  Also, if you forget to bring your bags when you shop, you are welcome to borrow some.  We only ask that you return them, in clean condition, when you are finished using them.  We also have a few logo bags left from the anniversary celebration, which will be available to purchase for one dollar until the supply runs out.

What's New at the Store

by Melisa Clark, General Manager

The last of the leaves are falling,(yeah! no more raking),as we officially welcome Winter! Cold wet weather is a great reason to come to your Co-op for hot, healthy and tasty soups, entree's and more. We are now making our own bone broths for our non-vegetarian soups so they are even more nutritious and delicious. Making your own soup? A variety of local produce is still available in our Produce department so include these local ingredients and help build a healthy community as part of your delicious culinary exploits. Add a regionally produced loaf of bread delivered daily from the "Baker and the Cake Maker" (except Mondays) to round out your meal or a local dessert from Lana Lane, Sugar Plum Bakery or the Co-op bakery.

The Co-op! Together we own it!
