From the Board
By John Le Pouvoir,
President, PNFC Board of Directors

Welcome Garland McQueen.
The next time you are in the Co-op, be on the lookout for this smiling face.  If you see him, say hello and welcome
to our new Interim General Manager, Garland McQueen. Your Co-op Board of Directors selected Garland after an extensive search for a person with the skills and experience to help us move Placerville Natural Foods Co-op to a higher level of success in meeting our goals of customer satisfaction, contribution to our local economy, sustainability and profitability. Garland comes to us through an arrangement with CDS Consulting Co-op. CDS has been instrumental in guiding us and providing expertise in organization and management since the Co-op was only an idea in the imagination of a few local visionaries.

Garland has decades of experience in the Natural Foods Industry, and for the past few years he has worked for a number of Co-ops providing the organizations with the tools for success in the challenging and competitive natural foods grocery industry.

Garland will be with us for six months, and in that time he will be sharing his skills and knowledge with our staff so that we will be able to maintain a robust and successful Co-op going forward. During this period, Garland will be working closely with Melisa, as Interim Store Manager, and the rest of our staff . It is our expectation that as Melisa's depth of knowledge increases, she will find herself more comfortable and better prepared to function as General Manager after Garland's tutelage.
Owner Services News
by Julie Silvey,  julie@placervillecoop.org.
Are you a business owner as well as a co-op owner?
We are planning to put together a directory of our co-op owner/members who are also business owners. If you would like to have your business listed in this directory, please fill out one of the forms found inside the store. This directory will likely be available online through our website and possibly in printed format in the store as well.

We will also soon have a business card display rack inside the store for the purpose of advertising for and supporting those who support us!

Calling All Volunteers!
by Twyla Teitzel

Happy Valentine's Day!

We LOVE our volunteers!  Thank you so much for all you do.
Farm to Table Dinner:  This annual event (formerly Locavore Dinner) is Saturday, September 19, 2015.  We need help with every aspect of planning this huge community dinner.  Our next meeting is Thursday, February 12, 2015 from 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm.  Refreshments will be served.  Please let me know if you will be attending so that I have enough food!

We are looking for corporate sponsors for this year's Farm to Table dinner.  We are encouraging our co-op owners who are business owners to partner with us.  When you become a sponsor you receive tickets to the dinner, you will be listed on our website, facebook page, and in media publications.  This is a great opportunity.  Please contact me if you are interested.  916-521-4569  or twyla@placervillecoop.org
