Helping Hands at the Locavore Dinner
By Percy McManus

Owner, Locavore Dinner Co-ordinator
For the second year in a row, the Shakespeare Club in Placerville was the location for the Food Co-op’s fourth annual Locavore Dinner.  Donations from local growers were used to prepare a delicious menu that showcased the results of their hard work in the fields.  In these times of boxed and processed food, often microwaved on top of it, it is a real treat to be able to enjoy dishes that have been lovingly prepared from scratch, using time-honored methods.

Volunteer!
by Julie Silvey
Greetings to PNFC members!  My name is Julie Silvey and I am now the Volunteer Coordinator

for the co-op.  Shirley has done a great job of paving the way for me and I hope to continue in that tradition of excellence!  I look forward to meeting many of you over the coming months. At this time we have a small core of about sixty who have shown interest, or already participated, in volunteering at least a small portion of their time to furthering the good of our co-op. It takes many who are willing to give a little to help spruce up or maintain the facilities, represent us in the community, pull off successful events and generally keep things running smoothly....

What's New  -  From the Board

by Ruthie Loeffelbein
The Co-op’s Third Annual Owner Meeting is coming up on Saturday, October 26.  You are going to be at the Co-op that day, anyway, because it’s our 2nd Store Anniversary Celebration, all day at the market.  The Owner Meeting is from 1 to 2 pm upstairs.  Come meet the current Board, hear the General Manager’s report, learn about your Co-op’s financial condition, and take a peek into the future.

It’s a good time to connect with other owners, and there may be surprises.
