PFC Newsletter November 2016

Greetings PFC owners and customers,

In 2012 I started the Placerville Food Swap, a monthly event where local folks could swap their excess garden bounty. We swapped vegetables, fruits, eggs, meat, canned goods and baked items. It was a wonderful experience and it reminded me that our community values local food.

I am committed to local and sustainable food, and to our local foodshed. I want to make local and organic food accessible to everyone in our community.

Please take a moment to read about Food Hubs - local food items, direct to consumers and small businesses. Check out our neighbors Tahoe Food Hub and D.R.O.P.P (Reno). They connect local farmers with customers and restaurants. This benefits everyone- farmers, customers, and small businesses. I belieive this model is the way to change our food system!

Drop me a line and let me know what you would like to buy in bulk.

Regina, PFC Store Manager

At Diestel, creating premium quality turkey and turkey products begins with sourcing the grains we mill on our ranch and continues throughout every aspect of our operation. We source the highest-quality grains, mill our own feed, give our animals extra time to grow naturally, use multiple breeds to ensure a fully mature turkey at every weight range, and treat our animals with compassion. Our customers say Diestel turkeys have a rich “old-fashioned flavor,” incredible tenderness, and texture.

Our high standards have remained unchanged since our ranch’s founding in 1949. Here are just a few of the reasons why our turkey tastes better, consistently.
