FROM THE GENERAL MANAGER

Dear Valued Placerville Food Co-op Customers,

The holiday season is behind us and we can get started on planning our calendar year. The first item on our agenda is scheduling Quarterly Meetings. Quarterly meetings are a great way to connect with your coop. We have our Annual Meeting every October but we know it is not reasonable to expect to to think we can reach our owners once per year.  Our meetings are casual.  We talk about our financials and the state of the co-op. This will be a great time to bring your questions, concerns, and suggestions to us as well. 

Mark your calendars! Meetings will be every three months on the last Wednesday at 5pm. A soup dinner will be provided. Space is limited in our community room so please RSVP. rsvp@placervillecoop.org

Our new salad bar is off to a great start - we have received a lot of positive input, as well as some constructive criticism, but overall we're pleased with the response from our community. If you haven't already, please come in and enjoy a fresh organic salad.

FROM THE BOARD

Welcome to three new members of your Co-op board of Directors: Lance Binley, Heidi Leveroni and, Sarah Jones. Starting in January your board will be back up to a full nine members, and with new, youthful directors bring fresh energy and skills to our Co-op. The future looks bright indeed. The board regretfully accepted the early resignation of Angie Patton. There was an unfilled vacancy on the board due to the earlier resignation of Karen Wolfenden.

And lastly, I have completed the three year term to which I was elected.

Last week board member Craig Thomas and I spent a day working on adding some storage to the back of the store. We will continue our efforts in the coming weeks and by spring a delightful outdoor patio seating area should be available on the south side of the store. If you’re interested in volunteering to assist with this project give a shout out to Regina or email board@placervillecoop.org The Co-op can only grow and prosper with our owners’ (that’s you) support. Shop at the Co-op. If you are not fully paid, consider paying off you member shares.

COOPERATOR OF THE MONTH

Help us congratulate Jesse as our Co-operator of the Month. Jesse has worked at the co-op since 2014. He has worked as a cashier, in grocery, and is now in our deli department.
PFC staff had great things to say about him:
"He has seen the deli through thick and thin - and he is still here with a smile!"
"He is a great cook and helps out when needed."
