CELEBRATE
OUR CO-OP!!

By Ruthie Loeffelbein

October 26 is a special day for the Co-op  - and for you.  It’s the 2nd Anniversary of the opening of our Co-op store and the day of our third Annual Owner Meeting.

Lanessa Machado, our Grocery Buyer, declares that Oct. 26 will celebrate Co-op owners.  She invites all of us to stop in, see what’s featured, explore new tastes and buy top-quality food.

From 10 am to 5 pm, there will be local vendors, including some of our own in-store foods providers, plus lots of free samples and raffles.  Some pets will come from County Animal Services down the street, to visit the Co-op and look for forever homes.  Anyone taking one of these pets home will receive a bag of critter-food samples from Co-op vendors.

Mid-day, the Annual Owner Meeting will take place between 1 and 2 pm in the upstairs meeting room.  This will include meeting the Board of Directors, an annual report from General Manager Melisa Clark, and a financial update by Chief Financial Officer Mickey Kaiserman.  Short and sweet, this meeting will interest Co-op owners, who may have questions relative to the reports.  IT’S YOUR CO-OP!

Back in the store, you will notice special sales throughout, plus new case deals.  Our great deli will be in full swing, and local pumpkins are in.  In the Health & Wellness Department, you’ll find health consultants ready to talk with you.

Lanessa and all our staff want everyone to come, have fun, meet everyone, and ask questions.  LET’S DO IT!

Volunteer!
by Julie Silvey
Greetings to PNFC members!  My name is Julie Silvey and I am now the Volunteer Coordinator

Volunteer opportunities are increasing at the co-op and as a member/owner you may want to consider joining those who are already helping. To become a volunteer for the co-op all you need to do is fill out an application and go through a brief orientation at the store.  After that, your name will be added to the volunteer contact list and you’ll be good to go when the needs arise and you have some time and inclination to help.  Then, in addition to knowing that you are helping your co-op, you will be eligible to receive our volunteer discount.  Four hours of volunteer time accumulated will earn you a discount of 10% off all of your purchases of regularly priced items the following month.

Please consider how you might serve in the following ways:

What's New at the Store

by Melisa Clark, Store Manager

Harvest time brings cooler weather, shorter days and bountiful Fall flavors to our busy lives! What better way to Celebrate our two year Anniversary! It's hard to believe that it has been two years already. Celebrate our success at our all day party at the Co-op on October 26th between 10-5.

The annual Fall Rummage Sale is Saturday October 12 between 8:00am - 3:00pm. You can donate items at the Co-op until Friday October 11. So clean out those closets, garages and basements. Any unsold items are donated to Snowline Hospice at the end of the sale. Help your Co-op, help your community. Last Rummage sale raised $1200.00 for the Co-op. Proceeds from this sale will fund The Growers Project, an in store photo series highlighting the local Growers whose products are sold at your Co-op.

Hungry and don't have time to fix a meal? Stop by the Co-op to enjoy a nutritious breakfast, a quick and tasty lunch or try one of our new dinner selections. Introduce yourself to Amber, Zac and Hope, three of our new Deli clerks.
Our extended store hours are 8:00 am-8:00 pm everyday so you can eat well more of the time.

The Co-op Staff would like to thank all of our customers for their awesome support over the last two years. It wouldn't be our Co-op without you. The Co-op! We own it! So can you!
